The blog is back!!!!!

HERE IT IS, FOLKS!!!!! THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED, WORLD-FAMOUS, ARSE-KICKING KAMP KIM BLOG HAS RETURNED!!!!!!

(Dum dada daaaaah!!!!!)

Irritatingly Kamp has kicked off with a fairly puny bang. After a tearful good-bye in Arlington Claire, Darlene, Kim and I (Sophie) climbed into the Tahoe and I drove away....

...to the mall....

...the outlet mall....

...the one Claire and I have been to at least a thousand times....

Darlene found herself in desparate need of summer clothes before she went off to Singapore, which is like Hawaii in that it is always summer, it is always hot, and (according to Darlene) everyone is happy. She had a nice chat in Coldwater Creek with the cashier about the smell of sheets that have hung out to dry (as opposed to having been run through a drying machine) and how Claire and I don't know what we're missing.

We then continued on to Seattle and dropped off Aunt Darlene, collected Fly (who has no belly fur due to it all was shaved off so she could have her liver ultrasound) and blazed back to the house as quickly as we could. The author immediately staggered into bed, overcome with exhaustion. Irritatingly, the author was woken up at an unknown hour of the morning to four sharp jabs in her spine. This turned out to be Claire in the middle of a dream in which she was riding an elevator and pushing the buttons repeatedly.

That was yesterday. Today has been very quiet. Kim had some important phone calls, so Claire watched Gilmore Girls, I watched Burn Notice (somehow I managed to mess up the TiVo in the process, but like a wizard descending from Hogwarts Kim managed to fix the problem effortlessly) and we had lunch at a cool burger joint named Perry's. Claire was teased because she ordered a vanilla milkshake and a plain hot dog with absolutely nothing on it (I would call that a totally Joyless Meal).

After that we went home again to do more work (Kim), watch Gilmore Girls (Claire), attempt to fix the TV (me) and then give up with a grunt of frustration and play Gameboy very agitaitedly (me again). Following that we saw Hancock in the theatre and bought enough groceries to feed a small village in Africa. Dinner was spaghetti while we watched bizarrely talented girls Claire's age jump off diving boards and do all sorts of things only thought to be only achievable by dolphins (all I can say for Women's Diving is, Holy cow, China PADDLED our ass!). Last I checked before coming down here to type this it was on Men's volleyball, and the announcers (once again) could not shut up about Phil Dalhausser. It's like, OKAY, we get it, he's the second coming. MOVE ON.

Expect more madness tomorrow, when Dennis returns and we go off to the silent movie (!!!).

Signing off,
Sophie

P.S. The Mexi-Coke counter has been changed to Most Watched Television Programs. This is because we already lost count of how many Claire has knocked back and we all know how the count would have turned out anways--Kim, Den and Soph: a few. Claire: a zillion.
